At Tam’s request for cheesemongers, can I recommend The Liverpool Cheese Company -https://liverpoolcheesecompany.com/ . It is a tiny shop run out of an old dairy in Woolton Village in Liverpool which also happens to be a grade 2 listed building. It has a fine selection of cheeses as well as other artisanal products including wine from a local independent merchant and local spirits and beers. Owners Vicky and Ian are passionate about cheese and do regular tastings - now online of course. I must declare an interest here as my wife has recently started working there in the shop, but we loved it before then anyway.

I would just like to endorse her view that red wine and cheese dont (/rarely) go but I keep seeing it as a match everywhere!

The Pangbourne Cheese Shop in Pangbourne is fantastic.
May I heartily recommend “The Cheeseman” in Norwich Market owned and run by Paula Taylor. Rated last year by The Times as one of the top 10 cheesemongers in the UK.
