Members' discount on my glassware

You may have read here that today we’re launching a machine-made version of my beautiful wine glass. This Precision glass is exactly the same shape as the mouth-blown Original version and is still dishwasher-friendly and designed to show off all types of wine to maximum advantage. It’s just slightly heavier and more robust. We’ve come up with it in response to requests from the hospitality industry, but it could be useful for large, busy gatherings too.

To celebrate the launch, my designer colleague Richard Brendon and his team are offering Purple Pagers a discount of 15% on the entire Jancis Robinson Collection, including the mouth-blown Original glasses and our two decanters.

Follow this link and enter discount code JANCIS15 at checkout to save a fortune! The discount applies throughout this entire month of July.

(And see also the members’ discount offered on the Wine and Philosophy retreat I’m co-hosting in Greece at the end of October.)

Hi Jancis

As a keen (but demonstrably clumsy) fan of your original glasses I was debating trying some of these to replace some glasses lost in action…but nowhere can I find the weight comparison, which would be key to seeing if I could live with the heavier glasses after loving the original for being so incredibly light.

Would you be able to find the specs to share here?
Many thanks.

Getting them for you now…

Hi Iain - thanks for your enquiry. The Original mouth blown glass has an average weight of c.100g. This may be subject to a small amount of acceptable variation as they are entirely hand-made pieces.
The new Precision glass is c.150g so you will notice a difference, but they are still very refined and offer a fantastic tasting experience for all wines. Do let me know if you require any further information at all.
With many thanks,
Lily

I have recently bought 12 of these original glasses that you were selling as seconds. They are not only beautiful they are also the best glasses to drink out of I have ever tried. I thought Zalto glasses would be very hard to beat but you have! Well done, I love them.

So glad to read this. Thank you. They really do maximise wines’ expression, don’t they?

I was hugely fortunate to have won a set of six of the original glasses and a Coravin through an Instagram competition, and have to say I love them so much. I’ve broken 2 sadly, but my partner has just gifted me two new Precision glasses for getting a distinction in my WSET L3! They are just as beautiful, but now handle the dishwasher with ease! (likely user error rather than the glasses fault)

Thanks for making them JR and RB, they do genuinely elevate champagne, white and lighter reds. I can’t help but reach for BDX glasses for bigger reds!
