Good Food Guide – special offer for members
Those interested in eating out in the UK may well remember The Good Food Guide, a must-have annual assessment of restaurants in Britain launched in 1951 by the late Raymond Postgate and subsequently edited most famously by the acerbic Christopher Driver, then Tom Jaine and Drew Smith. (I did some freelance writing of reviews for Driver in 1975 before embarking on my wine writing career.)
It has been many years since the print version appeared but Adam Hyman of CODE, a community for the hospitality industry, has just relaunched it, as an app. He explains, ‘members of The Good Food Guide Club have access to the Good Food Guide as an app, allowing us to continually update the Guide as opposed to its being almost being outdated by the time it used to hit the bookshop shelves when it was a print guide. ‘
He is offering Purple Pagers an introductory membership rate of £29.99 for the first year. You can join here.
