The world's lowest vineyard

There’s much discussion around the world’s highest vineyard - very little around the lowest. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or data around this topic?

Possible candidates might be California, Death Valley, or around the shores of the Dead Sea. The only references I can see are miles away and at much higher elevations. ChatGPT mentions an experimental one in Furnace Creek, Death Valley, but I can’t find a specific reference beyond that.

There are plenty at or around sea-level, but are there any below? There’s one in the Venetian Lagoon, which is regularly cited

Such a good question. Julia and I had a terrific time putting together a list of the highest-elevation vineyards for the latest edition of the Oxford, but we didn’t research lowest. Challenge accepted. And help welcome from any readers with ideas!

The lowest vineyard I know of is MinZeven (which means minus 7), in the Flevopolder in the Netherlands. This vineyard is located on land reclaimed from the sea in 1957. They make a sparkling wine from Souvignier Gris, Hibernal en Sauvignac.

Not quite sure if they are still producing. The vineyard was for sale in 2025
