Mission Blind Tasting 'MBT' - request for most easily confused grape varieties

Altitude makes a heck of a difference in reds. Good examples of Nebbiolo from Valtellina, high country Spanish Grenache and Nerello Mascalese from Etna all tend to have a colour more akin to Pinot and a palate underpinning of crunchy acidity. Can be hard to pick masked.

I remember loving Bonny Doon’s Roussanne for ages, then seeing RG say it had been Viognier all along!

I would argue that Columbia Gorge is so diverse in rainfall and temperature (as well as varieties) that there is no typical. I will add Trousseau and Ploussard to the list - but we may be getting a bit niche!

There really aren’t many but Alder did a great round up two years ago.

All suggestions added! Thank you! The ValdiguiĆ© is pretty niche so may not come up but I’ve thrown it in the list.

Thanks Henry! Added!
