An excellent article on this subject.
Polyethylene (PE) can remove cork taint and I have used this trick at home. You have to make sure the plastic wrap is PE. Also, sometimes you remove the wine flavor as well!.

There are lots of of halos in foods. Many winemaker I know won’t allow baby carrots in the house, as they can have a nasty halo smell, thanks to chlorine treatment,

An example of using fire to fight fire was at Chalone, where they cleaned the walls to chlorine based cleaners and that cut down on the TCA readings dramatically.

When I sold barrels, we had to make sure that not openly did we have a protocol for eliminating halo issues, but we had to worry about the shipping containers, which often have bromine fire retardants in the floor.

Using a PE plastic film to remove cork taint removes wine flavors as well.

If a wine has a cork taint, then that’s how it is. Full stop.

Solution: Open a new bottle.
