We recently discovered a new project producing amphora/talha wines in the Bairrada region of Portugal: Adega Malápio They offer a bewildering range of experiences, but their tasting and vineyard visit are sufficient to get a good idea of what they offer - currently, a seriously good red, and a worthwhile but less distinctive white. Other projects are in the pipeline, based on a passion for Bairrada culture, minimal intervention, and so on. Don’t expect to find this easily on the market - quantities are small so far - but it can be found in some hotels and restaurants in Portugal with more creative wine lists.

Thanks for posting this, Thomas. I have not come across Malápio but I will keep an eye out for them in future.
