How splendid to see an item on Commandaria on the articles page, thanks Caroline.
We recently (Sept 2021) had a 10 day trip to Cyprus mainly to visit wineries and we did have a day dedicated to the Commandaria region but sadly didn’t get to any of the three producers you present in the article, and three of those we did visit did, indeed, seem to produce “old fashioned” rustic traditional wines, fortified too. Interesting to see but not for repeat consumption or cellar door purchase.
But one exception - and this was Revecca winery https://revecca.com , whose Commandaria was delightful and reminiscent of the various attributes in the tasting notes given for those in the article, and whose Commandaria is also not fortified.

We also came across the practice of laying out grapes in the sun by Co-op members destined for Commandaria in the village of Dhoros
