Compelling article written by Paula. Thank you very much. Gosh, a Riesling spending 36 months on lees - I think they are certainly striking out some new (or perhaps returning to old?) territory. And good to see the Südpfalz get a mention. The way the Seckinger Chardonnay has been described is mouthwatering. Working Chardonnay ferments in Maikammer 20 odd years ago, I am not surprised by this level of quality. I wish the Junge Pfalz all the best. Zum Wohl!
Thanks so much for your kind words and support here. Love being able to shine the well deserved spotlight on the young guns in the region. As the vines (and this generation!) both come of age, there is a lot of energy and expertise coming together to do great things.
And you are absolutely correct, the trend right now is a return to tradition and time. Two approaches I am 100% behind. Please let us know if you find any of those wines and what you think!
